Morris & Co. Orkney by FreeSpirit is a collection that brings together designs inspired by the incredible talents of William Morris' daughter, May Morris who was one of the most influential figures in English embroidery. Her beautiful designs are recreated by the Morris & Co. studio and presented in this stunning new collection.

A new addition to the Orkney collection is the design Mesletter, which features intricate and beautifully printed birds & flowerheads trailing a central fruit tree. This design was inspired by the bed hangings as 'Kelmscott Manor', which were recrafted for 'Melsetter house' in Scotland. The moody, wild & seasonally changing landscapes of the Orkney isles, isolated from mainland Scotland by the bracing North Sea, are harnessed by the Morris & Co. studio through the colour palette and title for this collection.

These prints are bigger than our other fabrics and lovely as quilt backs, cushions, curtains or blinds or quilts.
